Electric motor capacitor
I am just getting into electric and want to convert some gliders to electric. Any rule of thumb for size of capacitor required for motor size?

RE: Electric motor capacitor
Hi,
Generally you use three .47uf capacitors. 1 from each of the poles to the can, and 1 between each pole. Hobby Lobby sells some at [link]http://www.hobby-lobby.com/motoraccy.htm[/link], but you'd probably be better off walking into your local radio shack. Get the ceramic kind. Chris. |

You can use the same size capacitors for most any motor.
Here is what I generally use. Sometimes only 1 cap. across the terminals works fine. |
RE: Electric motor capacitor
The Radio Shack capacitors you need are Part #272-134 (Pkg of 2) described as .047uF Ceramic Disc Capacitors.
