.46 convertion
Hi folks
I am replacing a OS .46 with a 11x7 prop with a electric motor. The question is if it were on a test stand what size motor.battery and ESC will i need to get the same performance? I am guessing I will need 1000 watts roughly. If it iis a help I will be converting a 40 size Kaos ,40 size sportster and sportster bi plane. I would like to keep it to 4S or 5S battery. Thank you for all the help. |

Personally I'd use 5s if you want the 11x7... 4s would need 13"-14" prop. |
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT ELECTRIC POWERED FLIGHT
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7100376/tm.htm My first question is always about weight. How much does the plane weigh, all up, ready to fly today? Typically for a glow conversion we shoot for about 100 watts/pound. If you are one of these "way to much power Is just about right" then we might shoot for 150 to 200 watts/pound. But using an electric "40" is a good target for typical pilots. I find the Electrifly motor selector very helpful. http://www.electrifly.com/powersyste...tem-index.html There are more detailed configuration tools but these are out of the conversion table. http://www.electrifly.com/powersyste...brushless.html

.40 42-40-1000 GPMG4675 SS-60 Not Needed Medium 5 10 x 5E 12,450 46.4 4 cell (3200)

.46 42-50-800 GPMG4700 SS-60 Not Needed Medium 5 10 x 5E 13,080 40.2 5 cell (2100)

|
