Pheonix 25 set up problem

Just removed a pixie 20 and brushed motor and replaced with a pheonix 25 brush-less and can not get it to work. I have tried all that the instructions said to do reverse servo, reset all the end points but will still not work. the radio will work but not the speed controller. Any suggestions
thanks
Milton

RE: Pheonix 25 set up problem

First the obvious, is the battery polarity correct? Next does it at least beep when you power it?

RE: Pheonix 25 set up problem

Either return it to lhs or send it back to cc. Ive never had one of their speedcontrollers go bad on me but I here that their service is top notch. Have you posted this question in the castle creations section at ezonemag yet?

RE: Pheonix 25 set up problem

Castle Creations has had a problem with their Pheonix 25 controller where a faulty resistor or two have failed causing improper motor start-ups.

Check with Shawn Palmer at Castle Creations. His RCU name is Shawn-Palmer so you can PM him here or e-mail him at [email protected].

RE: Pheonix 25 set up problem

I've got a new CC 25 that I wired up to a new Hacker B20 L15. On the first trip out, the only way I could get it to run was to have someone "flip the prop" and quickly give it throttle. At that point it appeared to run fine, but with no in the air restart capability. I tried again yesterday and kept trying to move the throttle stick to get it to start. The only thing I accomplished was to create a very hot motor. I didn't realize that the "chatters", if repeated too much, would do that.

I replaced the 25 with a used CC 35 I had and it starts every time with just a couple of "chatters." Is that the symptom of one of the 25 with a problem?

Is there a known problem with CC and Hacker compatability? I have a B20 S22 on a CC 25 that has been very good with the default settings. It may chatter every now and then, but not enough that it has been an issue.

RE: Pheonix 25 set up problem

Hi Sierra,

We had a batch of resistors out of tolerance a while back, and that is causing the non-starts on some 25 controllers - not an issue w/any motors, just those particular controllers.

Email me w/your address please, and I'll get you taken care of asap.

Thanks,
Shawn Palmer

Shawn,

Thanks for the quick response and the great service. I did an inventory and realized I have 9 of your Phoenixes. All working great, with the exception of this one.... and one still in the bag. 3 of them being Phoenix 25 running Hacker B20s. I definitely should have realized something was amiss.

I sent the Email as you requested.

Got to love this Forum and Castle Creations. :D:D
