motor setup

Anyone have any input on setting up my P-38 lighting This is my first electric and would appreciate any info on the set up For instance should the motors be in series or parallel 1 esc or 2 NiMh or Li-Po I have the stock speed 400 motors and a 30 amp esc but I started to think that there may be another way Thanks

RE: motor setup

There are dozens of ways, each with their pros and cons, mitigating circumstances, and personal preferences.

With the gear you have, here's what I'd recommend: Wire the motors in parallel to the single speed control. It will look like a single 20-24 Amp motor to the ESC and battery, so that's what you have to plan for.

As far as going with NiMH or LiPoly, that's your call. LiPolys will save you a bunch of weight. NiMHs will save you a bunch of money and time. For NiMH, I'd use an 8-cell pack of HR4/5FAUP NiMH cells. For LiPolys, two two-cell packs of Kokam 1500s in parallel (i.e. 2S2P).
