Power loss or gain with supplied wire (Newbie Question)
 

Good Afternoon,

I purchased a wattage Livewire the other day. The Kit calls for a 30 amp ESC... The kit comes with a motor and gear drive.... I have a Wattage 30 amp ESC.. The ESC has large wires for input from the battery and large ones to go to the motor.... The kit comes with these SCRAWNY little wires and plug from the motor.... Not wanting to cut or modify the plugs on either, I made a jumper using spare parts..... Seems this was a big mistake!!!... I quess I am lucky it didnt catch fire or melt!..... So I soldered heavy wire direct from the ESC to the MOTOR and it is a totally different plane.. I just cant see 30 amps running though those tiny wires, why in the world would a mfg do that?

The question is this:... Is there anyplace that has some guidlines for one to follow on Motor size/Amp draw in relation to the wire guage and connections to use for best/safe results?.
