Aveox A-15 with 3s Lipos?
 

Hello again all! I have a little bit of a delimma! My current fleet is a NE Sailplanes Accord II with Multiplex 6V 400 and gearbox, and am getting ready to order a Mountain Models Tantrum with the GWS 350C-DS drive system.

Now my question for this day is that I am thinking of getting a LiPo 3s pack (Kokam 1500 or Thunder 1P 2100.) I am currently wanting to use this pack on the Accord II, then since I have another A-15 using it on the Tantrum. I have found that when the pack is freshly charged, the APC 11X4.7E gives my Accord some good climb, but as soon as the voltage starts to drop so does the plane!

So I was thinking of getting a 3S pack and using the throttle a little judiciously so as to keep the input voltage up a little bit. Can the Aveox handle the Lipos well? Will the 11.1V of the 3S pack be too much for the motors? I don't know what the cutoff point on the Aveox is, as I haven't has it stop a motor yet!

Now all of this being said, the Aveox has brought my current 1050 KAN 8 cell down to less than 100 MaH without shutting off the motor. I know this from the discharge feature of my charger. I cannot remember what the voltage was, sorry.

Should I use this setup with the Lipos?
