Hacker gearbox repair question

I have a Hacker B20 16L with a 4:1 gearbox. I was testing it in the shop and the end of the gearbox came apart and detached itself. After several weeks I finally found all three planetary gears and can now reassemble it. The last gear was found deeply embedded in the foam wing of another airplane.

I am wondering how to keep the end of the gearbox from coming off again. It looks like it was a pressure fit but now does not fit in very tightly. Do you think that Loctite 609 (the green stuff) will keep it in place?

RE: Hacker gearbox repair question

Are you saying the brass end with the mounting screw holes came off the black metal sleeve? Don't think that is repairable, but I haven't ever seen what holds it on.

Some of them have the gear box unscrew from the adapter plate. That is threaded and one just applies Loctite and tightens it back down.

RE: Hacker gearbox repair question

Yes, the brass end came out of the black metal sleve. It looks like a press fit. It has ridges that match the gear teeth ridges inside the black metal sleve. It slides straight in with no threads. I think I can fabricate an external clamp that will hold it on.
