brushless esc choices

there are not a whole lot of choices when it comes to brushless ESC's. All I can find are the Castle Creations, Jeti, MGM compro, Kontronic, and Schulze. It seems that castle creations and jeti are the most popular around here. Any opinions on which is better ? (20ish amp range)

I don't know which is better, but my Castle Creations Phoenix 25 (after uploading latest firmware) is working very well in my application. However I am only drawing a peak of about 11 amps.

I have castle creations 25,45,60 and all work well.
I have their phylinx cable for setups, it works faster than manual programming mode also easier.
Have no other experience with other brands.
I will continue to buy the CC brand.

I have had a really bad time with Castle Creations, Promises where made by their people and not keep. Equipment coming directly from them not working. Wish I could be more supportive of CC, but I can't, and wouldn't. Jeti has worked well for me, not saying they are the best, but at least the ESC works when I got it.

I'm a CC man myself. Just had a brand new CC10 got down, contacted them and a replacement was sent even before my damaged one was sent back. Great support team. The CC10 failure was rare but never the less...they made good on the item.

I ditto the comments about CC service being great.

I sent them back a Phoenix 10 unit that was "technically" out of warranty and was expecting a bill for the repair, but surprised to have them say "no charge"

They are tops in my book for that.

I have both, from 10 to 80 amps, brushed and brushless, and have not had any trouble with either brand, CC or Jeti. As Tony said, if you go CC get the PX cable. Then you can down and install the latest upgrades.

Have you looked at Warrior ESC's made by BK Electronics?

Castle Creations are the best for the money. The others cost more but are they better? Kind of expensive to find out.

Castle only goes up to 80amps. If you need something bigger, then you have to go elsewhere.

I run cars, not planes. I am running the Maba ESC made by Castle Creations. So far it is one of the best ESC's I have ran. I would think their plane ESC's are just as good though.

Hey Ledsled,
Your Jeti 18amp will work with any brand of radio or reciever. I am really impressed with my Jeti 18 amp.

OK -
I am a car guy. I would think an 18amp ESC would go up quick. What size of air craft would you use a 18amp ESC in?
