Help Decicding on which Outrunner
I have a upscaled Tensor airframe that I want to use. The airframe weight is around 11 o.z. I have a Castle Creations 25 amp brushless esc already, and a Tanic 3 cell 2050 LiPo. I was wondering what outrunner will work with the esc/batt and give me 3d performance. Thanks for any help, Jared

RE: Help Decicding on which Outrunner
First, you need to see if the ESC and battery you've got can give you enough Watts for 3D performance. Is this the 2080 or 2150 Tanic pack? According to their website, they don't make a "2050" pack.
The 2150 pack is rated for 28.4 Amps. The 2080 pack is 15C rated, so it can do over 30 Amps. On a 3S LiPoly, that's at least 300 Watts of capability (Volts times Amps) on each pack. Your limiting factor is the 25A ESC here. That will limit you to about 250 Watts, which is plenty for unlimited 3D on a plane up to about 28oz and basic 3D up to 32oz. It sounds like this quasi-Tensor airframe is pretty large. Given the 11oz bare airframe weight, I'd expect the entire plane to weigh in the low 20's, about the same as an E-Flight Mini Funtana. People have had great luck with the AXi 2808/24 with a 9x4.7 or 10x4.7 APC thin electric prop on the Mini Funtana, and there's no reason it shouldn't work for your plane. |

The pack is a 2150. I should have looked at it before I posted. Thanks for your info, Jared
