Help with gear that slips
 
i have a old simpro?? ww1 plane it has a gear box cant get in the air because the gear on the motor slips, you ca the gear to the shaft and away you go but not now, any help or ideals thanks franki

I have used Locktite stuff for those type of problems. There are several different formulas guess it depends on how loose the gear is to the shaft. In my case the red formula worked great, just make sure you let it "cure" for a couple of days. Auto supply store like NAPA and Auto-Zone carry it and there are many strengths of the stuff. Also clean the shaft and gear with Alchy to remove any oils as this will weaken the bond. I tried the CA route also but wasnt permanent and when the motor got hot she would spin.........

I bought one of those little gear pullers made by GWS about 2 yrs ago. One of the best 15.00$ investments I have made cause I like gear box power systems esp. with powered sailplanes and indoor size foamies. Great little tool if I remember where I put it( you know so I know right where it is)!!!!!!!!
