You could try a KMS 4120/07 from hobbypeople.net same size, but the Axi is a better motor.

The problem with picking an off-brand, they may be great, is that without the Kt you don't know how strong the magnets are.

Someone with some bucks should buy one of each of these "pick a size and Kv" from each vendor and publish the RPM/watt for a given prop.

Is someone has already done this, a link please?

dave,

what is KT ??? or did you mean KV ? because on nitro models site they show the KV for the motors.

RE: AXI4120/14 equivelent????

Kt ("K" sub "T") is the torque constant. Kv=X RPM/Volt (Revolutions per Minute per Volt, Kt=X Nm/A (Newton Meters per Amp), R= X Ohms, L=X henrys

Without all four values predicting motor performance accurately is difficult to impossible.

I have 2 4120 motors both have a Kv of 480RPM/V. One turns a 12X6 with an input of 800 watts and stays cool the other, 900 watts at a lower rpm and gets hot. One was $45 the other $120. The Axi has 30% more Kt than the no-name motor. BTW, the cheap motor works great with a 12X4 prop at 600 watts.

rcdude.com has a great comparison chart. They sell Scorpion motors which are great quality at half the price of AXI motors. The one you want is an S-4020-12 which is a 542 Kv. The AXI is 650 Kv.
