Endoplasma help

I have several Endoplasma motors that have been in various planes with great success, runnng on 10-12 volts drawing 25-30 amps. Two of these motors have started sparking a lot between the brushes and commutator and throwing carbon dust around.I have cleaned the commutator with 1200 grit sand paper and replaced the brushes but they still spark more than when new.Is there anything else I can do?am I missing something?

RE: Endoplasma help

You can try breaking in the new brushes under water - just connect a D-cell and let the motor run in a container of water for 30 minutes or so - that will bed the brushes to the curve of the commutator [the water should turn gray] . Air dry the motor, then put a drop of oil on the bearings and see if it is any better.
