Replace the Leads on a Brushless Motor

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the wire leads on a brushless motor? I have an Outrage motor I got as part of a kit from someone on another forum who said the kit was new and mint. It's not but if I can repair this I will let it slide. The wires are damaged close to the motor (about 1/4 inch away) so it would be difficult to just splice the wires; replacement seems to be the best option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Unless you can splice them, you'd need to rewind the entire motor, since those leads are contiguous with the motor windings.

On many out-runners flexible wires are soldered to the motor windings. If you can get the stator off the spool without damaging the windings you may be able to solder new wires onto the windings. I did this to a KMS 4130 last week.
