picco .28 tuning questions
I have some questions tuning a picco .28 which has beenconverted for use on a starter box. I think I am pretty close with the hsn. When I have it at 95% throttle everything is good. Once I go above that the engine seems to choke. I opened the needle a tad and everything looks good. The question I have is the needle is actually a turn out from flush. Factory settings are flush. Is there somethi g else going on that I dont know? I have almost a gallon of fuel through it. I read that the piccos take a gallon or more to really be broken in. Im going to put the hsn and lsn back to factory specs and retune. I think part of the problem is I leaned out the lsn before I got the hsn fully tuned. Im going to retry. I also have a macstar .28 which came with the car. Never been used. I should of gotten an os but im stuck with these 2 engines. Is the macstar bettwr same or worse than the picco? Any help or ideas woukd be appreciated. Thank you

RE: picco .28 tuning questions
Factory settings are really meant as a starting point....there are variables that affect how to tune. Go with what you see/hear. You noted it came with a Mac* .28 ....is the buggy you are referring to a Hyper 7?
Unless you plan on racing it, I would not dismiss your two engines. I have the Mac* .28 and LOVE it for bashing! I've also heard great things about Picco as well.

RE: picco .28 tuning questions
its a hyper 8.5 and took out the stock engine and put in the picco. It also has been in the 50s here. I will wait till it warms up and retune. Thank you
