Default RE: Chemical formula for nitro fuel

if you are putting an engine under alot of stress like that, then i highly suggest using castor oil

yea, without a doubt. Ricinoleic acid is pretty much caster oil. So min of 15-20% in a tank with 80% nitro. Now i am thinking of putting a very high precision hydro actuator (something like our HSN but not that precise) from the second high mix fuel tank to the engine if dealing with that high a nitro mixture.

... and maybe.... I am not even sure yet.. but maybe ill be able to obtain some Nitrous Oxide and mix that with our high nitro mix solution...

and maybe... I am not sure again... but maybe ill be able to supercharge a 2stroke! if that will work then I will simply work with a lower-price engines.. 4 strokes are fairly pricey.

Thats it. I came up with a mixture ill do on my own: 25% nitric oxide 15%caster oil 60% Nitromethane+methanol.. This i can run full on in short bursts without combining with standard fuel in tank#1

dont want to sound negative but dont think u can super charge a 2 stroke.no valves so the super charger cant build pressure[&o] mite want to be carfuel adding pure oxygen(nitros oxide) to the mix as it will make one hell of a bang

lol, yea.. This is not the standard type of supercharging. I love the Nitrous Oxide idea because this chemical is technically supposed to release oxygen once a certain temperature is reached, i think its 250C, that happens when the piston gets pushed to the TDC (top dead centre) closing the exhuast port and then releasing oxygen "supercharging" the 2stroke! Its not exactly supercharging, its like cheating

You are right, I have to be very careful and make sure that oxygen is released far into the cycle and not anytime before the TDC position. Ill be careful with designing the mixture.

The great thing with cheating this way is that you can use "supercharging" on ALL of our little engines. It does not have to be an expensive and rare car 4stroke engine.

sorry when u said super chargeing thought u ment blower[:@] would be great if someone could do something like that but make it cheap.would love to see the look on peoples face as u blow past them on the main straight

heheh I did start with thinking standard supercharging of a 4 stroke but then when I remembered the magic of N2O, i went, "wait a minute, lets try and make it cheaper." So thats where I am now. N2O will replace a blower.

ok, here is the tank. Fairly simple, you can get N2O pressurized tank on ebay and refill this one like 50 times. I will calculate how long a car can run on this N2O before recharging tomorrow.

been having a think, anyone clear this up for me? surely if you moved the exhaust port further down so it is closed earlier than the induction ports the system could be pressurized with a spuer charger, only thing i can see is that the exhaust gases wont be vented as efficiently. lmk what you guys come up with

The biggest problem i can see with this is not enough ventilation. Engines attempt to throw out CO2/CO twice when the exhaust port is on top of the intake port (one exhaust before the injection and one after), but you have only one attempt with the exhaust port on the bottom...
Good question.

I think it would work pretty well with a supercharger. That way you get more ventilation. and a little bit of built up pressure if its a good supercharger.

hahaha, yea

back to 4stroke then. It should work at very high pressures..

Would anyone know by any chance how different pressures are from those bottles i linked and real NOS tanks?

dont know about the bottle pressure but it would need to be regulated and those little bottles my mum used to use them when i was alittle fella they dont have a proper end .it gets pierced when there put in to the whipped cream machine[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

same with this. but i think they sell valves that can control pressure. Ill get that.
