Default Doubled my fuel economy!

Ok! I thought of a way over the weekend to increase fuel mileage and decided to try it on a new go tech 26 which had to come apart anyway because the pinch was too tight. I typically would get about 8-10 min runs on a 125cc tank depending on mixture set.

Well, after the mod I was shocked! I knew it would work but didn't think it would be so dramatic. With a rich setup I turned in an 18:52 min runtime! This has far exceeded my expectations! I made other mods to increase power which offset the fuel economy mod. So now I have neglegable performance gain but fantastic mileage.

How much would it be worth to be able to pit 1 time in a 30 min race?

No, I want keep it to myself for a little while until I find out what kind of mod market there would be! $$$$ I can tell you that I changed crank-case pressurization timing but will show no pics yet!

The crank-case becomes pressurized on downstroke! Think it through.......it will come to you!

Has anyone ever run nearly 20 minutes on a 125 cc tank? Has this been done before?

I am not Corporate....!!!!! I just know how they work and don't want anyone stealing this idea! I have already given enough information that an engineer or engine builder should understand what is going on!

I need to duplicate results and fiqure the math! Also, a side effect of what I have done is low idle speed! Even with the physical idle set all the way in it idles slow! However, it is crazy stable and refuses to stall out even after a long full speed/high temp pass. I can let off and when rpm go low enough clutch disengages and engine goes almost silent but does not stall!

Ok, so those most likely to be able to use your idea to make a fortune already know about it...

How about letting the rest of us in on the secret?

I want to know what the longest runtime has been with a 125cc tank and .26 engine? Anybody know?

I've heard of people making 12 mins approximately, under racing circumstances. That would be running dangerously lean and is more like the time you'd expect for a lean tuned .21, I'm not sure about 26s, cos they're not widely used in racing, where runtimes actually mean something.

...by the way I'm also considering the value of this topic, since it is just a claim (and a fairly unbelieveable one no less) and gives nothing (of value to the racer or hobbyist) away...remember this is a discussion forum, so if you're not going to discuss it...you see what I mean...I'll leave it for now and see where it goes...

yes, i do find it a little strange. why would somebody claim something then refuse to explain it? imo it just looks like he is trying to start a controversy over nothing...

So you changed the induction timing and made it longer (since to make it shorter you need to make a new crank and I don't think you did that).
Your secret is out, we can now all cash in on it.

Ok so you've "increased crank-case pressurisation timing"?
What you've advanced the point at which pressurisation occurs or you've increased duration?
[sm=confused.gif]

Edit:I think it's twaddle but i'm still interested.

No,,,, I didn't change the induction timing! I changed the crank-case pressure timing. This decreases the amount of fuel required by allowing a slight charge of unburned fuel to enter from the exhaust back-pressure! I don't need to say anything further until I do more experimenting and start looking at specific timing values. I do have big engine experience from years of NASCAR Modified racing and degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. If you don't believe my results then OH WELL! I don't see this as non-beneficial to the racing community! I am sorry if some feel this post is not appropriate, however, I am excited about this! I have had many ideas stolen for profit over the years and just need a little time to think over how to protect myself!

I get it now.
You're taking unburnt fuel from teh exhaust and injecting it back onto the crank case.

Yes! It has to be done precise though and it causes rpm's to drop low enough that I may have to modify the carb slider.

I am truly sorry about not posting pics showing exactly what I have done but I know there is validity to my idea and it is time for me to get a piece of the pie!

kinda see where hes coming from(if it is in fact true). should of never mentioned the whole picco thing a few years back. know everyone buys them up like hotcakes so you cant find one or you get one with an airleak cause of them being mass produced. should of let em discover them on their own. same goes with other stuff ive mentioned on here. coincedence or not?? although you shouldnt of said anything if you wanted to keep it a secret.
