the RB 523 and 323 come with the motor, mount, header and pipe all in one. thats why i liked this engine so much. just one purchase...one company, so if something goes wrong, just one company to deal with.

i agree i love the fact it was a complete package. i have a 523 and was wondering if anyone has any issues with air leaks? i dont but may seal the engine as a precaution. also what temps are you all running at?

from what ive heard, air leaks are a gamble, but from factory i dont think any engine is sealed as well as it could be with the Permatex copper gasket maker. lots of poeple seal their engines before they drop them in their trucks just as a precaution and for peace of mind. i once read somewhere that something like 60% of all tunning issues are due to a big or small airleak somewhere. i know when i get my big block this winter ill be sealing it before i drop it in. my TRX 3.3 had a huge airleak develop on the first day of a camping trip. im not sure of the history of RB engines wether or not they are known to develop air leaks but my advise, seal your engine to save you an almost certin headache down the road.

simple:
1. get high temp RTV
2. take off backplate, carb, exhaust system..ETC...anywhere you think a leak can occur
3. apply a thin bead of RTV in between parts that join together. you may also want to reinforce rubber o-rings by applying some RTV too.
4. put it back all together.
5. wait 24 hrs.
6. your done!!

for the front bearing:
1. find exactly where the leak is. rubber seal or in between crankshaft and inner race.
2. if its in between crankshaft and inner race skip to step 4. if its rubber seal, proceed to step 3.
3. you need to buy a new bearing. no way around it. (unless you want to be el-cheap and seal a moving part with RTV[&:] which it wont work)
4. you need to get a type of special sealant that will seal very small leaks. or use thread lock (which i usestill works)

so that if you slip over on the pavement, it doesn't damage to cooling head like i did to mine, although they don't completely void the problem, they do help, i will be buying a new RB soon because my air filter fell off and it sucked in dirt, not in the kit though, just the engine, and i'll be converting to a JP-3 side pipe (along with many other parts) for a race setup since i got my LST2, the stock rear exhaust get damaged to easily as you can see.

Well, she thinks the LST2 is hers... LOL

I do have a MiniT that I let her drive with my help. Everytime she sees either of my trucks, or a picture of my truck... or a similar one... she freaks out. She's almost 2... when she gets older, I may let her play with the MiniT... by herself.
