anybody know this motor? it is an old .21 from the late 80's or early 90's, and i've never heard of it. this one has an aluminium carb, 6 head screws, and a 9 fin head. any info is useful.

good to finally find som one who knows something about these. i have yet to fire this one up, but it has good compression and the piston/sleeve are in great shape. what kind of performance did that motor give?

it was fast as hell back in the day for what it was,i also had it in a old pancar and it was insane in that.
gearing and pipe choice are a big factor also.
i still have the motor but it has a hairline crack inside the lower case.

that sucks about the crack in the case, but it's great to hear that it has deacent power. i'll be running the motor in an ofna lx1, till spring and i can break in a vintage ron paris motor of mine. do you think that a dynamite 086 pipe and trinity 30% should work well for this motor?

the pipe should be great, not sure about 30%.
back in the day all we had was 10-15% nitro, guess you could try it even if you have to add 1 shim.

i think it may have been run on 20-30% nitro, because i found it with 2 Rex 350's, 3 Ron Pairs Picco's, and this thing. the owner went to the nationals years ago and took 5th, so he may have been running a high nitro fuel. I got 2 of the Ron Paris Motors for $50
one isn't broken in yer, and the other is used with good compression.

I suspect this is what was originally called a Bluebird but sold in America as a Brat. I have a Bluebird .51 (an excellent ABC engine) and am waiting on the arrival of a Bluebird .28 aircraft engine (brand new off ebay). There's also a .25 and both the 25 and 28 used an AAC construction which is superior to ABC so your car engine may be AAC as well.

I hate to sound negative but, you may not find parts for this engine. The Brat line was sold by World engines (Indy R/C) in Indiana in the 1980's. You may have luck by going through www.mecoa.com/ these guys accept used engines as trade in for new engines. I don't know what they do with the used trade ins.
