i use it my mgt 12lb truck, its the best 149.00 dollars i ever spent in this hobby. i've had it now for well over a year with no problems and about 3 or 4 gallons of different fuels. you will be amazed on how much power it makes with gen 2 20% byrons.

ok lets try and answer this guy and not have a lrp vs picco war [sm=punching.gif] the lrp is a good engine if your going to do some club racing you will probably do well with it. there are better engines out there but they are going to cost a little more I ran mine in a rc8t and it did ok in it

Yeah, it's an awesome engine for bashing(MT, truggy, or even buggy..) Most people would advise to take a 21 instead for racing. Most good race 21's are a lot more expensive though. You could probably get a Go 21 for a Spec 3 kind of price..
The Spec 3 Truggy version has the carb inserts, so you can tame it down some to get better fuel mileage..
I love my Spec 3. It IS a fuel pig though..

most of the guys here are running the legal .28's not .21's that is why i was leaning more into the lrp .28. thanks arick

You'll be happy with that engine, its one of the better 28s for the price. I loved my LRP, easy to tune, it holds the tune, and mine went 5 gallons before replacing the rear bearing.
I used it in an 8ight,

FYI, the new Losi 454 engine is almost definitely either a direct copy or a slight improvement over the Spec 3, and costs 150 bucks at www.losipartshouse.com ....

WHere did you get this information?
Cause the 454 looks just like a Mach, or is the Mach an SH engine? like the LRP
Well, Looking closer they look very similar, must both be SH engines

Mostly just a surmise. Both the Mach 427 and LRP Spec 3 are SH engines. Now the "Mach" 454 is a 28 too.. Same number of ports, and same bore and stroke I think..
And we all know how many ways the SH engines get rebranded...
A Mach 427 and LRP Spec 3 are already really close. I heard even the Sportwerks (also SH..) closed backplate for the Mach also works on the LRP...
So I'm just assuming. It makes too much sense. I mean, I doubt SH went out and totally redesigned a new 28. It's gotta' be an LRP twin or slightly upgraded version...
Could be wrong though... [sm=confused.gif]

i for sure that the sh, and xtm motors are exactly the same. but anyways i just ordered it.
i asked towerhobbies (174.00) to price match amainhobbies at their $164.00. but i could not use use the $20.00 of code...so i did do the price matching. and shipping was going to be $9.99 , so i joined towers member club for $9.99 (got 3 free r/c car action mags and free shipping for 1 year!) and the total was $164.00 SAME AS AMAINHOBBIES.COM! great deal!
i went with a pull starter just incase of the engine haveing "too" much guts i can pull it and put it in my savage
if i like it i will order another but bump start and put the first one in my savage and bump in my losi ....thats thinkin
thanks guys.

i got one, first had it in my mgt, it was ok, then i put it in my ofna 9.5 and its much better, its a 3 port, which i did some ramping mods to the ports and really woke up the top end. dynamite, lrp, losi, xtm, sh, sportwerks are all made by golden lion. different hobby shops use the different makes as their house brand.
