Default Engine Bearing Regular Bearings OK?

Hi Friends,

I've been thinking if there's ok to use regular bearing "not the rc ones" in our engine.

I'm asking that because I live in Brazil and we have to import the bearings if we want change then.

I would like to hear experienced ppl if is there any problem to use bearing we buy in bearing shops, not especific for RC, I'm thinking on that BC I realized over the time that many rc stuff are not made just for RC, Example: The engine O-rings, I could find almost all of then localy, The Seals OF GAS ENGINES(BAJA 5B) also and I'm realizing of the engine bearings.

Also, always is much cheaper to find stuff that is not specific for the hobby but can still be used on that, U guys know what I'm talking about. Thanx a lot

PS: I want change the TRX 3.3 engine bearing.

Victor

as long as its the same size as the one you got then makes no difference, obviously quality bearings must be used

you also have to make sure the new braeings you buy are capable if the RPM capacity of these motors.

I don't know about your 3.3, I don't run any nitro traxxas's.

But with Novarossi or RB engines you should use TKO or Novarossi bearings. They are purpose built for these engines. The fit and seal need to be precise.

TKO bearings aren't that pricey and bearings arent that bad to ship.

You can put ''regular'' bearings such as SKF but you need the same size and for high RPM and temps

Actually there are no 'RC' bearings. It's just rebadged 'regular' bearings from major bearing manufacturers.
