Bashing Engine ?

I dont know much about thedifferense between a bashing engine and a racing engine i understand the driving conditions are the differnse overall but im looking to get a new engine the will last iv gone thru two engines in id say 5-6 months about a gallon and a half on each one they were a SH.18 and a Toki .18 the SH took about 2 gallons before pooping out on me so i got the Toki for 40$ on ebay it did fine beside the fact the it was a POS out of the box had to get new carb and cooling head but even with those it still blew..... so now im ready to drop the loot on a GOOD engine i dont need the best at least a 3+ gallon engine. ANY tip would be GREAT thank you all.

What are you gunna drop it in? Buggy/truggy/mt/on road/etc???
Most engines will die if you run them too lean to often.

A 4x4 truck and I really don't run it too lean I'd say I run it pretty lean 16% of the time out off 100 still pretty new to tuning the engine as well.

Just get a good brand name engine design for what you want to do, and go from there. OS make a good variety of engines.
