need help t3 engine problem, QUICK QUESTION

Hi I am in a predicament
I have the hpi RS4 EVO 3 with the t3.0 engine

my friend had done the porting and polishing mod to the engine and now the engine seems to have no compression.

is it worth sending the engine in to hpi and see if they will send me a new one?

or will it be a waist of time since i think my buddy messed it up.

the leak seems to come from where the carb attaches to the body.

Shipping it to cali is gonna cost prob 20-30$ and i found a new t3 engine for 84$ from tower hobbies.

SO, should i just get the new engine? or is their something faster that will fit and will cost less than 100$

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your friend messed up the engine because he didn't know what he was doing. Now you want HPI to replace it because - http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../msn/50_50.gif

HPI will not replace a ruined engine. If you're lucky, they will bill you for a replacement piston and sleeve at cost... but probably not. Your 'friend' should not be allowed near engines. Just buy a new one, and don't let your 'friend' mess with the ports.
