Tornado BB engine problems
 

I recently came across an old Redcat Racing Tornado BB Buggy. It was in somewhat of disrepair and I have gotten all non-engine parts working and checked all the electronics on the buggy. Unfornately my new issue is the engine. I replaced the pull start, cleaned the carb (or atleast I believe I did), and gotten new fuel lines. Now the issue is the pull start will not retract once pulled, I know its not the one way bearing because I have, through frustration, removed the spark plug and the pull start and engine performed perfectly, smooth and reset after every pull. I am literally out of ideas and don't have friends in the hobby or a local shop to go to on this problem...
