Engine overheating
 

I have a new Hyper 21 8 port with boost attachment, and i cannot seem to get the temps down. I have put 3 tanks thru idling on the starter box, and according to my venom temp meter, it was running low 200's. I have just started to run it slowly up and down the street (without body, thinking air flow will help if) and the temps jump straight up to 270, It is running very rich, heaps of oil/smoke coming out the exh. Running a OS8 plug, and 15% nitro. Brakes are not dragging or anything silly like that, idle is fine which makes me think there is no air leak etc.
What else can i do to keep temps down?

it is probably because you are going slow, i had this similar prob with my os 21 rz vo1b, it would idle at about 180, when i putted it around it would jump up to about 260-270, if i drove it fast it would only go to about 280, also add some oil to your fuel, comes in little packets. it could also be because it is new, still not totaly broken in, an engine is not totaly broken in until after about 10 tanks!

Have you tried changing your fuel lines? They could be a bit restricted.

Make sure you have no air leaks in boost nipple fittings or fuel line. Use can put a small drop of blue locktite on nipples and use tie-wraps on the fuel to nipple fittings. I have used them and really engine runs as well boost sealed. Main reason for this is that engine will go very lean if the fittings start to come out or fuel tubing comes off. That's really not much fuel especially as it was idling. My guess is that the lowend needle is set to lean for a race engine.
