When the wheels stop so does the Engine?!
iv only had my car for a day and i got it used. i have a 2speed Nitro car and for some reson i can get it runing fine as long as the drive wheels are lifted but as soon as i set it down or hold the drive wheels the engine will cut out. this only happens if both wheels are stopped.
I think it might be because the drive gear is not disengaging from the engine. if any one can help i would kindly appreciate it. I also broke my pull starter should i try to fix it or am i screwed on that 1 till i buy a new one? |
RE: When the wheels stop so does the Engine?!
take your motor out it and take off your clutch bell and look at your clutches they could be broken or the springs could be broken as well i wouyld sugest that you get a new set of clutches and springs and install them as that should fix it

RE: When the wheels stop so does the Engine?!
The only way it can happen is the engine is not disengaging from the drivetrain.
In most cars removal of the spur gears gains access to the clutch bell. I find it much easier than taking the engine off, re-setting the mesh and applying loc-tite. Once this is done you can take apart the clutch. As mention, look for a broken clutch spring or damaged clutch shoes. Ryan |
