engine troubles
Hey guys, I just put a brand new OS 18 CVR on my RC10GT and I am trying to break it in. I have all the needles set to the factory position, and I have talked to the LHS but they act like they dont know. I am just idling and riding the car at like 1/4 throttle, and the temp is just soaring up and when it hits 250 I kill it. Anyone have an idea what might be the problem? Is it air leaks? I have richened it almost a full turn over factory and it does little to no good

RE: engine troubles
sounds like an air leak, also read the break in guide, that ro you are using a way hot plug and/or your lsn is way too lean

RE: engine troubles
If it is an air leak where if any is the most common place for it to leak at. Seems like the idle is very very unstable like it seems to gain in rpm just sitting there. I have tryed to to give it more fuel in the attempts to cool it but It only seems to blow more fuel out of the exhaust.

RE: engine troubles
i beleive its suppose to be flush with the housing

RE: engine troubles
If its an airleak, it will most likely be on the carb neck or the backplate but since your engine is new it might just be the needles.
You can download the manual at the OS website, heres the direct link [link]http://manuals.hobbico.com/osm/18cvr-rx-manual.pdf[/link] Im pretty sure it says it somewhere there |
