Engine Trouble

Breaking in a Tower Hobbies .25 Tower Terror. Engine fired but is running crazy fast. Clutch engaging and tires are moving. Checked the needles and set at 4 1/2 high, 3 1/2 low and the idle stop from the factory was at 1/4 inch. the manual said "1 mm from the body" and I screwed it in TIGHT but only got it about 1/8th inch away. What gives? Is it broken and how can I fix it?

umm, usually when you want lower idling, you have to unscrew the idling screw

If you're sure needle positions are correct and idle gap is fine, I'd start checking for airleaks.

i had that prblm and after trying so many things... i decided it was an air leak i had no idea where so i replaced all my fuel lines, checked all my O rings and sealed off every possible place on the engine with engine sealant/gasket maker...it worked pretty good atleast i can deal with the way it runs now...my needle settings need some tweaking but its definetly manageable now

I agree, you want to screw the idle screw out LOOSE to lower your idle speed, not in tight.
