My difficult car problems

Hi everyone,

I own a Tamiya Nitro Crusher and recently ive been having major problems with the engine, please help,

A few weeks ago it just stopped starting and so i checked everything from glow plug to igniter to new fuel. Eventaully the problem was a worn out piston and sleeve.
I have just bought a brand new piston and sleeve which has fixed the low compression. Since i have a very small engine i wanted to do a bit of hop up performance mods. So i bought a 2 speed transmission for the engine. I installed it straight away with everything in working order. I then proceeded to try start the engine when all my problems started......
The engine will start very easilly, probably 4 pulls and it starts but it just wont idle!!!!!
I though maybe the new gearbox was creating drag so i took that out and now i only have the fuel tank and engine. Now still the same problem. I can start the engine and keep it alive for about 8 to 12 seconds but then it dies. the main problem is that immediately after i take out the glow igniter, the engine dies instantly!!!! I have a big enough gap for my idle speed(well over a 1mm gap) and I have 2 glow plugs in case i have problems. When i took the engine in and got my new piston and sleeve, the hobby expert set my settings. He set my HSN and my LSN to 3 turns from tight. I think it might be too rich but at the moment i have really fiddled enough with the carb settings!!! My manual says LSN=2 and HSN=2.5 but he denied those settings. The motor is a Tamiya 2.5cc or a FS-15S with slide carb. Please help me get this car working.....
I still need to do the whole break in procedure because of the new piuston and sleeve but i cant do that if the car wont even idle.....
Problems
1. will not idle
2. engine dies when glow igniter removed

Solutions
1. New glow plug??
2. leaner settings on LSN or HSN???

Thanks for any help

RE: My difficult car problems

you do know when you install a new piston and sleeve that you have to go through the break in process again?......set the needles back to factory spec and begin at the beginning.....and good luck...

RE: My difficult car problems

yes I know I have to do that. I will do it sraight away as my car starts working. Should i keep the current needle settings from the expert? or go down to factory settings which are HSN-2.5 and LSN-2?

Thanks for any help an please try read the first post, where the problem lies
