How do you know if you have the batch #3??? I only ask because I've had nothing but problems from this truck
The tag on the box says 9501 genesis rtr. It has the black failsafe unit but nu aluminum diffs. Problems as to date in three tanks since break in have been broken hub spindle gs028. broken upper a arm gs033 could have been my fault, broken shock, anothe shock that won't stay on the ball, and a dogbone that won't stay in the cup for whatever reason. I really like the truck but the problems are unbearable and overwhelming. Sorry had to vent, sure hope someone at cen replies to this e-mail this time!!

I purchased my Gen early December 2004 and with much anticipation took it home to learn more about it. The first problem i encountered was the Orange failsafe did not work at all. Back to the shop and this was replaced. Tried to fire up my RTR truck, Pull Starter failed. Back to LHS where they tried telling me it was my fault. Tried again next day after the repair, same thing. Back to the shop. They finally admitted a problem with Starter.
Finally started Genny and ran it in as per instructions, and on first run sheared gears on clutch. Problem found to be incorrect alignment of engine mount. LHS said it was my fault and i had to pay for the gearset. Total running time = 10mins.
Repaired the drive gears and back to the park. Rear Swing shaft fell out of Drive dog from the Diff and consequently damaged Diff Case cover, Bearing and GS011 Bulkhead, and GS029 (Diff Drive Cup). On examination of the remaining 3 Drive Cups, all 3 showing signs of wear.
Inspected damaged Differential and found it is the 2 spyder type with plastic housing and only a small amount of grease.
Also found Shocks leaking already. Total Running time = 30mins
Is 3rd gear an Urban myth or it will happen with further tuning and adjustments??
Love the truck but frustrated (read "annoyed") with the amount of running time Vs. Repair and Costs!
After reading other messages, it appears that what I am experiencing was common 12 months ago and a "Care Package" was issued free of charge by CEN.
Does this mean that my brand new truck is a Batch 1 eventhough it is only 1 month old? Should I be seeking legal action as the truck was very expensive and definately not ready to run straight out of the box. I would have been better off buying a kit and building it myself and saving money.
Are the upgrades available to me in Australia as I am not giving up just yet, all I want is something that lasts more than 40 minutes and will these upgrades ensure me an indestructable truck where the only problems that I encounter are self inflicted in the process of having fun?
