GST SITS THE SHELf MORE THAN ANY OF MY OTHER TRUCK
My GST is a real peice of crap, before i bought it i was told by everyone not to buy it but did i listen NO i bought the piece of crap anyway and it gives me more problems than its worth. Now my truck will only go fast in reverse and i pulled the tranny and no gears are stpipped. Forward is so slow but reverse it will haul tail. Not even the real dogman can figure this one out. Ive had this truck 6 months and 4 of them its been on the shelf of one or another. I will never mess with CEN again i'll stick with traxxas.

RE: GST SITS THE SHELf MORE THAN ANY OF MY OTHER TRUCK
I'm sorry you're having trouble, but before posting something like "OMG MY GST SUCKS I HATE IT" have you tried calling CEN Racing and asking them for some professional guidance, I can tell you from first hand experience they're more then willing to help you fix it..
From what it sounds like you broke part of your transmission and need to narrow down which exact piece broke, did you check your 3rd gear one-way as The Real Dogman suggested? Also consider that running a motor of that size with the center diff. locked does add more stress to your drivetrain, any jumps and rough terrain while at full throttle could potentially damage something.
If CEN were not willing to work with you, or the guys here on this forum not willing to help, then I may agree with your statement. But from reading your other post it just broke on 6/27/7 and these forums don't typically provide answers overnight, if you need more immediate results I would definitely call CEN Racing.
I hope you get it solved, and good luck to you.

Too bad about that, I've had great luck with CEN and terrible luck with Traxxas, especially the 3.3 engine...[sm=thumbs_down.gif]
Sounds like something is assembled wrong in the tranny. Have you downloaded the manual from CEN and compared your tranny internals to the ones in the pictures?
Thats where I would start.

RE: GST SITS THE SHELf MORE THAN ANY OF MY OTHER TRUCK
I've pulled the tranny many time and checked all the gears none are worn or chewed. At first my servo kep sticking while running leaving the carb. wide open so i did hit a trash can while haul tailing but after i changed the servo this started happening. The thing is i'm fead up with this cen after every run something else is messed up, none of my other trucks mess up as much as my gst. When its rolling find its the strongest out there but thats when its rolling. And i'm always in the forms cause i'm always looking for info and i find that most people in these forums have the same trouble i do. I'm not new to this nitro r/c actually i do my own work and i work on everybody's r/c's in the neighborhood so i'm very experinced.

Hey devo208,
Ok, firstly some constructive critisim (not flammin' you), your gallery is the place for photo's like you have posted in your last (& most other posts) please keep photo's relative to your posts in them - eg pictures of your tranny internals only! ........If I want to see your other stuff I will check out your gallery!!!........
Secondly, you may want to change your tone to TRD & anyone else her that wants to respond to you - we are all only poeple interested in this hobby & more importantly we are all unpaid. I for one, come for help & too help others! If you want instant results / answers call CEN Racing on the phone!!.....
I've said my bit, now I'm happy.
Now for your problem, when you get around to taking those pictures TRD has asked for, you may want to concentrate on the second shaft in the transmission, the one that your 3rd speed clutch & fwd/rev selector is located on. Because all drive fwd or rev goes thru' this up to this point.
When you select reverse (looking above your tranny the selector is pointing to the front of your truck) this moves your selector to the reverse cog (one closest the input end of your tranny) & engages it & the reverse ideller cog.
So inversely when you select frd It moves the selector assembly to the front cog in the tranny engaging it with the dog within the foward gear.
Since you aren't getting foward movement, some photos of this area would be nice to diagnose this problem. I suspect that your selector isn't engagiong this properly or there is some damage to the is area!
Photos & we will continue this ........ I'm late for work now so catch you later!.......... (Yes, some of us do actually have a life as well .....sorry couldn't resist).
Regards, .46NitroAddict [>:]

RE: GST SITS THE SHELf MORE THAN ANY OF MY OTHER TRUCK
Devo208,
Its probably a loose set or grub screw on your center drive train. Find the set / grub screw that tightens the front or rear drive shafts to the MX037 pinion / bevel gear.
In your manual, page 15 diagram 05-17 it shows the G36271 set / grub screw 5x5 that I am talking about. There is one in the front and one in the rear. If one of them comes loose you may experience exactly what you are stating. The ability to one way and not the other and / or slowly both ways.
If this is the problem put some lock tight on the set / grub screw and tighten it onto the flat spot of the ring / bevel gear (MX037).
