Default Where to bash in the london area

Was just wondering if any of us Londers have a secret bashing or on road spot that we use?
I only know of the Scrubs in West London - loads of bashing space and a couple of empty car parks, but that's it...

So, let us know where... need a new place to go?

Cheers

There are a few, i bash at [link=http://www.burgessnitro.co.uk/index.htm]Burgess Nitro[/link], small track but great fun, bash every other sunday there. There is also [link=http://www.dartfordracetrack.com/]Dartford race track[/link] maybe a bit further to travel but great track. Other than that theres [link=http://www.emorc.com/maddog/NR/home.php]EMORC[/link] home to the novarossi raceway, great track but a good drive outside london. Hope that helps.

I have been over to Epping Forest a couple of times.
I did 't know there was a track at Dartford, I may check it out as the one in Basildon only has a bash day once a month.

I am not saying that is it, but as I'm in Essex, Epping was the only place I know nearer to you.

Soz, that is all I can offer. []

Sorry pal, weren't having a go!
I know what ya mean though - Living in central London it's difficult to find good places, I really only get a chance to get 'em out when I go up to Great Yarmouth to stay with family (and that aint too often)

Oh well, looks like i'll have to stick to Wormwood Scrubs.......................................

Just had a look on http://www.apexmodels.com/links-club...a5e1feee882cb5
Hole list of tracks and clubs, but, none near me.

Mate the track in Burgess Park, is it open to the public to use for RC, or is only for Kart racing, as it's only down the road from work?

Its only open for the rc guys every other sunday, its right next to the go kart track (we use the kart track as a tune up area) and has just had its surface redone with extra drainage as it flooded last bash day after all that insane rain. Really easy going bunch just up for a good bash. You can come twice i think before they ask you to become a member which only costs £8 for the year or there abouts and you'll need brca insurance then as well, £12 for the year. Pretty cheap compared to alot of places.

Sounds good, shame though, I cant make this Sunday!
(if I understood properly) I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know the next bash Sunday? I'd come up and have a look, maybe even have a go, as i've never really been to a proper organised place before. Is it ok for a novice like myself to join?

Cheers pal.

Its perfect for novices as we mainly bash so no rigid race times. We do occasionally have the odd class race but nothing serious, winner gets a bottle of sparkling wine usually. The next bash after sunday 12th is 2 weeks after that on the 26th and the 9th of september after that just check the [link=http://www.burgessnitro.co.uk/]burgess nitro site[/link] and look under the info tab for the events calendar. Short video of the track can be seen [link=http://video.burgessnitro.co.uk/JeffyB_movie2.wmv]Here[/link] shows a crt pro, hellfire and a baja that had a shock problem (why he takes jumps slowly). Just look out for my truggies and come say hello [sm=regular_smile.gif]

I've just purchased a CEN GST 7.7 that I've been throwing around the Scrubs. Where is the best place? Are there any spots for a bit of a hill climb? The Scrubs is too big for me to walk around and have a look, I just want to get bashing as soon as I get there. Which area do you go to bash?

Was a good bash, i'm waiting for the pictures of it to be posted, i was too busy bashing and racing to film anything. Both my truggies ran really well, had a short rain shower but that helped keep the dust down for a while. No bashing at the Burgess nitro track for a month for me as im away on holiday for the next one but will be there september 9th if anyones interested.

RC Smasher, unfortunately the scrubs is a plain flat piece of land, no hill climbs - normally when I wanna just through the trucks around, there's a good size dirt area (I think it's actually used for horses, so I always do a quick check over for lumps of you know what!!!) It's just off of the Wood Lane side of the Scrubs, got it's own car park and everything.
I'm lucky enough to have a figure 8 skate track outside my house, it's fun but like all the other tracks, it's made of concrete just like the one on Meanwhile Gardens. Also, the Playstation skate park is 5 minutes down Portobello Road, but I'm sure they don't allow Nitro Rc in there…
Either way, I know my trucks wouldn't last 5 minutes on a concrete skate ramp!!!

It'd be good to see some pics JeffyB?

Nice pics - What i'll try and do is get up there for the 26th to have a nosey, but the Notting Hill Carnival's on, and I live slap bang in the middle of it - and then maybe on the sixth i'll get my ST2 ready, as I also own a XTM Mammoth St and a XTM XT2 would it more appropriate to bring one of them instead?

Bring what you like its quite a short track with a few good jumps and some bumps. Some of the guys bring 3-4 cars each bash, see what you think when you scope it out. Heres a short video i filmed a few bashes ago, shows a crt pro, baja (had shock problems that day) and a hellfire, shows the track nicely though and may give you more of an idea what you would like to bring.
