My GST is my first Nitro car, so I have been learning a lot about not only driving a nitro car buy how to drive my GST.
I have been running the car stock for now apart from thge addition of a OFNA Check Valve and an extra inline fuel filter.
And I have been lucky (maybe) and not broken anything yet.
But the other day I decided it was time to lock the diff's, shocks and give it a clean. What a marathon Job! I certainly dont want to be doing it again soon lol.
But I have a couple of questions?
My Cen is for general running/bashing so its not for racing in comp.
I have used 10k diff oil front and rear and 100k diff oil in the center
In the shocks I have used 40wt in the front and 45wt in the rear with the standard valves (disc things in the shocks).
I also expanded(broke) my budget and fitted a Hitec 5955TG Steering Servo and a Motor Saver Air filter. I have a Futaba Fail-Safe installed so removed the Failsafe Spring..is this ok?
What do you think of this combination? Should I have changed the Valve's in the shocks?
After putting a few tanks through it since then I have noticed that the front tyres no longer Expand (ballon) under hard acceleration which i am guessing is good. Although I am not sure about the suspension setup..seems that it may be too hard, but cant say as I have only run it in the backyard on the lawn.
the brakes seem to need some adjustment too as if i brake hard the front dives down considerably and if i brake really hard it will flip over on its nose. Should I just increase the braking force on the rear? or back off the fronts a bit?
Now I am thinking of a nerw body and maybe some wheels and tyres so any suggestions/pics would be great. Looking at the Proline bodies.
