Default CEN MT2 Resto/Rebuild Project

Well after receiving this in a trade I realized this thing is trashed and not "RTR" as was stated...so instead of getting angry I figured this could be a great resto/rebuild project...
Well the break down happened today and this is where we are now...

Default RE: CEN MT Spec 3.0 Resto/Rebuild Project

Is that all that came with it? LOL, not RTR at all, looks like you need one end of the truck (diff, arms etc.) and a "transmission"

plus that is an MT2 (older version of spec 3 / magnum)

have fun, there's tons of info in this forum if you want to beef this thing up

Default RE: CEN MT2 Resto/Rebuild Project

well, they are almost identical. The differences are:

The Spec 3 has:
a 1 piece blue anodized chassis, that is a bit longer than the MT2.
a plastic front upper chassis brace
a plastic rear uppper chassis brace
a lay down steering servo
a slightly longer drive shaft

besides that they are the same (somebody let me know if I missed anything!)

all of the parts are interchangable except the driveshaft and chassis.

check out this thread to see some serious mods to these units!

yeah, the funfactor is the name of the series that included the MT2, a ST, a buggy, and a rally car, all built on the same chassis.

Nitro is a bit more hassle, dirtier and louder than electric, but It's awesome and you just fill & go once its all setup (no more charging!)

I had one of these trucks when they first came out and sometimes wish I still had it... It was probably one of the easiest to work on and very fast.. easily hit 45 with the stock 15 engine... before I sold mine, I upgraded to an os 18 and T-maxx drivetrain.. I may still have some of the old pics floating around.... Yours is definately an MT2... If you need any help with anything on it, let me know.. biggest issue is gear mesh... It will destroy spur gears if they are not perfectly meshed... Good luck with the build...

There fun buggys. My favorite part of the Mt2 is the engine. The idling champ of nitro engines.

Buggy, Monster Truck, rally thats the neat part of the Fun Factor. I used to change bodies alot with the Mt2 and wheels. Making it a Rally car I think is the most fun.

If you haven't seen the Mt2 run. One thing I have to say is it is very fast.

It could be a good engine still. There very tough and it takes alot to kill them.
