starting problems
I just got my genesis fully broke in and was leaning out the engine. Everything was going fine until I let the engine cool for the final time. I tried to start it again and could not. I have tried now for 3 days to get it started and cannot, Everything is ok ie glow plug etc. I started messing with the bottom end and screwed everything up. Can you give me some base line settings so I can at least get the truck to start. thanks

RE: starting problems
Start at the fuel tank and check for blockage, check fuel lines for blockage.
Make sure you have no holes in the lines so that you are leaking fuel. is the cylinder head moving up and down. Base settings are in the manual. Make sure you unscrew the glow plug half a turn when starting up... this will make it easier for you to get her going. |
RE: starting problems
Arizona_JAY,
Try these settings and go from there. Top end: 3 1/2 turns out. Bottom end: 1 1/2 turns IN from flush When you prime the engine make sure that you only prime it minimally. Just until fuel barely enters the carburator. CEN RACING |
RE: starting problems
well thats wrong your always supposed to keep on a extra 2 pulls after the fuel has entered so it is fully primed not minimally primed
|
RE: starting problems
its always a little dangerous to argue with the people whoa ctually manufacture the engine... it is possible that cenracing might just be familiar with this engine, and therefore know what they are talking about...
the 2 extra pulls u mention, would be ok so long as everything else is absolutely spot on, a warm engine would help. if someone is having problems it is best to stay on the side of caution cossie, think before u post mate, it will save u looking silly. |
RE: starting problems
thanks,
I reset to those settings and all is fine. As for the 2 pulls, dont have a clue what your talking about. Later |
