RE: cen funfactor problems
hi
right ur high speed needle - the one with the brass sleeve, should be 3.5 fulls turns out from fully closed. ur low speed needle, in the centre of the carb arm on the otherside of the carb, should be sitting flush. i believe they are the factory settings. re the tuning - do it slowly, adjust one needle at a time, starting with the hi speed, the low should be so pretty damn close, that it wont need any adjustment - should be.... once u have a nice wrm engine, start turnin the high speed needle inwards, 1/8 of a turn at a time, run it and then repeat as neccesary til u see no increase in performance, or a lack of smoke from the exhaust. BEWARE - if this is ur first nitro - the golden rule is do not lean the engine out too far, it will die if u do! much better to have a slightly rich tune, for engine life etc. i set my brake so the servo uses as much of its throw as poss, to give me the most control over the brakes, as opposed to lockin the wheels as soon as u think about braking! oh and set it so its free to rotate at tickover etc, no dragging, that just wears stuff out. as for the spinning wheels - is it a high tickover thats causing that? if the idle is low and the wheels are still spinnin, it could be that ur clutch spring is snapped, no biggy, just take the clutch bell off the engine (the part with the little gears on) and take a look - there should be a spring around the centre of the clutch shoes. engine idle should be adjusted on the carb and not the throttle trim - once its warm at least my fingers are sore now! just u wait til u try to get the 2 speed workin right, its either a piece of cake or a right nightmare, engine needs to be tuned right before u mess with that tho. hope thats some help! |
