Why does this happen?

:( Today was my second time breaking one of the differentials on my Fun Factor MT2. Before, I had broken a front differential by accidently running over a bike rim. But today I was just doing some grass jumping, not going more than 10 or 15 MPH. I was also occasionaly going down the street and coming back again going pretty fast, but I didn't crash or anything. Then I heard a sound almost like the body was hitting the wheels when punching the gas, but I checked it and it wasn't. While I was checking it, I accidentaly gave a little bit of gas and noticed that the right rear wheel wasn't spinning so I shut it off and found that the differential had snapped like last time, altough this time the bar was missing to attacth to the differential ( the differential on the car not the the wheel ). I manged to find the bar, but what is causing this, is it the grass jumping, or maybe is it when I give it gas while its turning? I only need Part # GX12, like last time right?

Thanks in advance,
Andy

If you are breaking part GX12, you need to do the 'diff cup mod' that is posted here. It will fix your problems. I also broke an unmodded diff cup simply running through grass and doing donuts in dirt. They suck and are really weak. Mod them and you will have no more problems. Here is a link to the mod that I found.

There is a really good detailed description here that shows two different ways of doing the mod. The compression fittings method is easier (IMO):

Good luck and I hope this helps.

I broke 3 the first day I got my FF from doing jumps and landing under full throttle!

I think its about time CEN makes a new part!

Hey, I got the part I needed, but now I figured out the dogbone is bent! The hobby shop doesn't have that but will any other companys work?

RE: Why does this happen?

CEN did make new diff cups for the Magnum truck that are supposedly stronger. However, you may have to call Custom RC Cars or Toyhaus and have them order it as now one lists the part on their website. I emailed Custom and they stated their website was not up to date and they could get any of the Magnum parts.

On the dogbones and CV's, I think CEN used the same one on the new Magnum truck so we are still screwed there.

Ok so no other companies will work? I'm only 10 and I'm desperate for these parts.

There are a couple mods where you replace the entire shaft and wheel assemble. I think Poor Judgement devised a method for using Tmaxx shafts and Rolland devised a method for using Swift buggy shafts. They are detailed in one of the threads here but both are pretty involved. I would stick to the diff cup mod for now. It's pretty simple to do.
