Help!! Servo problems
 

Ok, I was driving my Cen ATX today on a Baseball field. When the car locks up and stops moving. So after and few minutes of inspection I realize my throttle servo horn will not move, with or without power. I loosened the throttle linkage up to see if there was a change and still no movement. What could be the problem here. And has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it. Oh and when I do hit the trigger on my reciever I can hear the throttle servo motor trying to move the servo horn. So I am pretty sure that my servo motor is still good.

did you try turning the horn manually? sounds like maybe broken gear teeth in the servo itself...

Yes, I tried to move it manually and with the reciever trigger and nothing moves. Also I did open up the servo just now to check the gears and everything is ok, then I tried to move the horn again and it moved a couple of times then it got stuck again and will not move

The stock servos are pretty cheap anyway. Might be a good time to upgrade. If your steering servo is still good, I would buy a good steering server and move the current steering servo to the throttle servo position.

What servos do you recommend. I have the Skyion G82122 Hi-torque 10kg all metal gear servo's right now

so whats 10KG work out to in in/lbs...? i m to lazy to google a eschange calc right now, get a HiTech HS645MG and put that on your steering. 40 bux at my lhs. or 60 for the digital counterpart HS5645MG... if you want to up grade both and have your stock steeign servo for a shelfer. then look to the HiTech HS625MG or the digital counterpart the HiTech HS5625MG... i just put a HS645 into my BB Maxx and although its a decent servo and it should work well in most conditions, but it is nowhere strong enough to give me the rusults im used to with my JR Z9000T servo i have in my aluminum TMaxx for steering. and with the big block im toasting servo horns like a dog, and a metal horn is the next step, but im sure it will kill the HS without to much trouble considerign the power the HB 26 gives me.... looks like one lhs gets another 300.00 of my hard earned.. 100 for the JR Z9000T and 200 for the OS 18TM im looking to get.. heh if your froggy and want good servo for steering i suggest the JR line in digital ball bearing servos, just use a 5cell hump pack instead of the 4 aa pack, UNLESS you have 4 2200 or more MaH AA rechargers. i have 12 Duracell 2500 AA MaH rchg batts, and they Rock Solid batts. but the hump will be best as you get a good 6v instead of 4.8.

What sites online carry these upgraded servos. Also any other suggestions as to what might be the problem with my current servo

From reading what you have described it sounds like you have broken the stock servo that came with your vehicle.

Did this wire come loose or is in not supposed to be wired to the mother board

That wire should be wired through the mother board. Your servo is broken and you will need to purchase another unfortunately.

Actually no, I don't need to replace it. I just got out my solder gun and wired it back to the mother board. And it works like new. That just saved me $40. But I am still going to upgrade both my servos. Thanks for all the help guys I am off to the track.

I would recommend not getting the Cirrus servo. I have seen 3 of them on different occasions overheat and melt the case.

The only servo manufacturer that I recommend is Hitec. Mainly because of there 2 year warranty and personal experience.
The 311 for the throttle and the 645 for the steering would be good choices.

Hopefully they solved the problem. It was a common problem when they switched from XTM servos to the Cirrus servos on the Mammoths.
