genesis engine wont start

the engine starts with a drill what you plug into the wall but that mean that i can only use my genesis close to my house any answers would be grate? |

Check out this thread. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_40...tm.htm#4056271
The guy there couldn't get his to start until he put a faster drill on it. that might be your issue. You may need a bigger drill. I really like craftsman's (sears) 19.2v cordless drill. Best one I've ever used and I've even dropped it in over a foot of water and never had any issues with it. |
RE: genesis engine wont start
I use a 7.2v but its barely fast enough to get the genesis started.

RE: genesis engine wont start
i do need a faster drill as it start with the plug in drill but wont start with the cordless do you no what voltage drill would be best as i dont want to go out and buy a drill for it not to work and another problem i have is i get my truck running and i start to drive it about when i give it full throttle it just cuts out is it running to rich

RE: genesis engine wont start
I have found my Genesis VERY hard to start from cold, and I have blisters to prove it.[:@][:@]
I have now taken to putting a drop of fuel directly into the cylinder, pull the starter cord once or twice to blow out the access, replace the glow plug and hey presto, one or two pulls and she is away!!:D:D:D:D Is this okay to do? How this is the point where you lot reply telling me I am killing my engine!!:eek:;) |
RE: genesis engine wont start
The only way it will hurt anything is if you put too much fuel in and hydro-lock the piston, just like when you flood it. It will be very hard to pull, because the piston can not compress the fuel this can break pull starts roto-starts and one way bearings. Were you priming the engine by putting your finger over the stinger untill the fuel reached the carb? That might save you the trouble of pulling the glow plug.

RE: genesis engine wont start
have you got a site where i can buy a sayers drill from as im in the uk and have never heard of that make

RE: genesis engine wont start
You could get any brand of drill really...
Just that more voltage ususally means more power. Also, its best if the drill has a variable speed trigger as well as a 2 speed gearbox. And, you want a torque clutch so that it the engine gets flooded, your drill will just slip when its hard to turn instead of wrecking the engine. A half inch chuck is nice too, because then you can fit some big stuff in the drill. I just reccomend the sears drill because I have worked in the automotive industry and I restore cars at home for a hobby, and It's my favorite drill out of the 6 (i think) that I have. It actually has more power than a snap on 3/8 cordless impact driver :) http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...cegjdghldgfk.0 |
