Genesis temp problems
 

Can anyone tell me which is more trustworthy, a spektrum nitro telemtery temp monitor or a nova rc mini temp gun with laser. The reason I ask is that my spektrum thermistor loop reads at about 50 degrees F higher than my mini temp gun. The spittle test on the engine head seems to suggest that the mini temp gun is closer to the truth.

this is how i test my duratrax temp gun, i boil water and put a meat thermonitor in it when it reaches 140 deg i shoot my temp gun at the water and its always pretty close to the temp

It depends both could give you a false reading, where is the sensor for the spektrum mounted? With the non-contact thermometer you actually take the temp where you are supposed to at the glow plug. I am not familiar with your model temp-gun but some have troubles reading metal objects, you might be able to change settings.
