Hey guys, im kind of a noob at this so bear with me. Last year my engine rod in my ATX funfactor snapped, so i got the upgrade for my NX-16 engine and upgraded it to a .18. Tried to start it, but couldn't. The pull start is really hard to pull and nothing happens when i do. I checked the glow plug, which works fine and saw that there was fuel inside the cylinder. I just dont get it, even w/ that i should get some sign of life out of my engine. I noticed that once i primed the engine, there was a puddle of fuel around my engine but i had trouble finding any fuel leaks because the engine is dry everywhere else. I was thinking of just buying the OS .18 engine and get rid of this problem, but i dont feel like spending more money after i had bought all the upgrades. Any advice would really help, thanks.

one thing to check for, is to see if you have the port on the piston lined up on the exhaust side. I know that when I upgraded mine, I put it in backwards and couldn't figur out what was wrong[&:]

But, if there is fuel in the cyllinder, that could be an indication of a bad glow plug.
Have you tried replacing the glowplug? and are you using a hot plug like an OS #8 ?

Wats the best way to check for that? I think i might have just flooded the engine but im not sure. They made the light blue fuel lines the same color as the fuel, so that might be the problem, but i have checked for it many times and and it doesnt seem like im flooding it.

obviously you get it primed first, then try to start it. Then if it doesn't start, take the glow plug out and turn the motor upside down and pull the cord a few times to see if fuel comes out. if it does, it's flooded. If not, it's not getting fuel and you either have a fuel problem or it's not primed enough.

Anyway, If it is flooded, you will first want to check your glow ignitor to see if it is fully charged. then I reccomend trying a new glow plug, prefferably a hot one like an OS #8. or at least check your current glow plug by taking it out of the engine and using piliars (so you don't burn your fingers) insert it into the glow ignitor and see if it glows to an almost white color.

those light blut lines can be a pain yeah, but if you have a hobby shop close you could get some clear stuff. It's les than a dollar a foot anyway.
