Replacing piston and sleeve
I picked up another cen funfactor from a friend yesterday for $60. He told me that everything is in good shape except for when he was playing with it one day and forgot to zip tie the air filter to the carb he said after about one tank it sounded different and played with it for one more tank. Then he realized the airfilter fell off. He said that all I would have to do is replace the piston and sleeve and it would restore the combustion. Is this true? If so does anyone have those part numbers so I can order another one. It is the NX16 stock engine

RE: Replacing piston and sleeve
I would upgrade to the .18 cylinder and piston. Here are the upgrade part numbers: (G70344-08) CEN Piston and Cylinder, (G70344-07) CEN Connecting Rod
Here is a link to the thread that discusses this upgrade: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_25...tm.htm#2520395 |
RE: Replacing piston and sleeve
I would also recomend replacing the piston pin. It's cheap insurance.

RE: Replacing piston and sleeve
do you know the part number for the piston pin? And is that and this all I will need (G70344-08) CEN Piston and Cylinder, (G70344-07) CEN Connecting Rod

RE: Replacing piston and sleeve
It should be part #G70344-04. The G70344 is the code for the engine, the individual parts are after the dash. I searched on Toyhaus and it comes us as a piston pin, so the part number should be good.

ORIGINAL: offroadfury Thanks for the part numbers, I have ordered the parts is there anything I need to know special about installing them when they get here Rolland gave this advice in post #42 of the link above, so all credit goes to him if you find this bit of info useful. |
RE: Replacing piston and sleeve
Does anyone know what the part number for the .18 piston rod is I was reading the original post about the conversion and it said I should also get the .18 piston rod as well. I just want to make sure I get everything at once.
(Edit) Also where are you getting these part numbers from so I don't have to keep bothering you guys for them sorry for the inconvience |
RE: Replacing piston and sleeve
I think "piston rod" is referring to the connecting rod. Either that or the piston pin. The only parts you need to do the complete upgrade are the parts listed here. This is pretty much all the working parts inside the motor except the crank and a couple bearings. Here are the part numbers again:
(G70344-08) CEN Piston and Cylinder (G70344-07) CEN Connecting Rod (G70344-04) CEN Piston Pin The easiest place to get all the part numbers is Toyhaus. Here is a link to the Funfactor MT2 ordering diagram: http://www.toyhaus.com/ff4wdmt.html Toyhaus has great service and stocks most every CEN part available. But, expect to pay full retail or close to it. I was a little nervous when I did my upgrade, but there really are not that many parts to these motors. Just pay attention to how you take it apart and you shouldn't have much of a problem. If you get stuck, just ask. There are some really good people here that have helped me a bunch. |
RE: Replacing piston and sleeve
