RE: Nice Engine
If you want a drop-in motor that requires no mods, check out the OS .18 cv-rx with the 11j rotary carb. Here is a link to it on Tower Hobbies:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXGGP7&P=ML Right now Tower has a $15 off coupon on a $125 purchase. So pad your order and get the discount, it's worth it. |
RE: Nice Engine
I vote .18 cv-rx also. Best bang for your buck and all you have to do is cut the header bolts shorter.
make sure to get the .18 cv-rx NOT the cv-rx(s) |
RE: Nice Engine
Thanks guys.

RE: Nice Engine
Mate, with the price you pay over here it is well worth ordering from the states!!! I got one around 3 months ago and payed around 70 quid for it - when it arrived I only had to pay 11 more quid for import tax...
Great engine! |
RE: Nice Engine
They are on 'buy it now' for £57 on ebay!! Excluding postage of course but come on, £57!!

RE: Nice Engine
Ebay number 250047714221. The postage would be about £20.

RE: Nice Engine
What exactly do i need to run this?

You need to read the thread properly...

RE: Nice Engine
I have the OS .18CVRX(S) on my RC10 GT, same engine different shaft, (pay attention to Dustin) and she screams!
VERY reliable, great torque and starts easy. Even during break in the very first time I tried to start the engine she started in about three or four pulls. I spent a little more money and got the OS tuned header and pipe and WOW what a difference that made! Big (read BIG) change in response, speed and torque. Very forgiving in weather differences and came with a couple very good filters. My vote hands down! |
RE: Nice Engine
I know what he said! But what if i dont know what the header bolts are.
|
RE: Nice Engine
They're basically the screws that hold the exhaust manifold onto the engine, from whtat I remember, it's only one of them that need shortening a few mm's!!!
|
RE: Nice Engine
Aye, the header/manifold bolts are the bolts that hold the header/manifold on. It was just one of mine that needed a trim, the rearmost bolt, just 3 or 4mm off the end, and ur good to go.
I second the OS pipes. I went for the T-1030 pipe, made a very good difference all through the rev range, but most noticeably around the midrange. Use an OS#8 glow plug and Id recommend 20 or 25% nitro fuel. Lovely little engine it is, had mine for years and its still going strong, starts so easily its untrue and holds a tune very well. |
