Fun factor question?check it out!

I was wondering, I noticed a lot of talk about the axles and diff cups breaking on different members fun factor type vehicles, And I was wondering with the stock engine do they really break that much or is it because people are putting BIgger engines in them that the truck wasnt made for? I have one I just bought and havent driven it yet so I am wandering?..Thanks

Mine is stock and it breaks same with most people, i think it is worth buying a couple of each.

Any Thing Else?

Engine size has nothing to do with the funfactor diff cups breaking. I am still running the stock motor. I broke a diff cup just driving across a football practice field the local high school uses. The stock diff cups are made really bad. The magnum diff cups are much better I hear. Do yourself a favor and do the diff cup mod. You can try it, maybe you will have better luck than me. But when they break, we will be here to help you mod them.

ithink they also break because of too long shocks!!!

Thats true too, If you take and put a piece of fuel tubing on your shock shafts so that the travel is limited you will break far fewer. I tried that before I did the diff cup mod.
But, if you do the mod, you won't have to worry about ever breaking one.

Mine broke in the first 1/2 hour of running a brand new truck.

Ordered replacement part, but after reading this, seems I made a mistake and should of done the magnums or mod.

Still looking for the mod. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I did the diff cup mod and have been running the truck for 3 weeks now tih no problems......Just use any 3/8 inside diameter brass or copper pipe dremel it out to fit over the outdrives snugly, cut it to lenght and add some ca glue and tap them on.........I could not find the compression fittings at my hardware store, so I just found some little peices of brass pipe 3/8 inside diameter about 7/8 inches long, I dremeled the inside out cut them to lenght then had to grind down the shock towers a bit so they dont rub on the brass sleeves.
