roto starter for gst 7.7

hello i was just wondering if ne1 has went and got the roto starter and installed it before the break in process? if so how is the engine running now? will it start the engine if its not broken in? why do they sugesst not to use the roto starter?

RE: roto starter for gst 7.7

Chris, the NX76 is a very large engine by Land vehicle standards. So it has ALOT of compression when new(Before break in). That compression causes alot of strain on the Pull Start shaft and one way bearing, so much so that you WILL get blisters while breaking it in(unless your hands are used to hard work). The rotostart is even harder on those parts and it is very possible to actually break those parts. When the engine is broke in the compression drops slightly but after 1 gallon the compression is low enough that the roto start is not so hard on the parts, but it is still pretty hard on them but not so much you would expect parts to break. That why CEN recommends installing it after 1 gallon..

Help this helps

Good luck

We recommend using the roto-tech starter device after at least one gallon of fuel has passed through the engine.
