just curious do i need to install the central lock set on my gst? will it make it run better? what is it for? the the little bag that came with the gst?

I'm thinking of doing the dif lock so I can get the true 4wd out of this truck. when you get a set of wheels off the ground your not going to get much power down where you need it without the dif locked. and you can run 1 set of breaks, that's what i'm down to after todays run[&o]

the little bag with the 2 o rings is the one

it's up to you if it's worth it....I'm hopeing and alot say yes

my buddy did it to his and had bad luck. He kept on snapping the pins in the drive shafts.

Locking the center diff will send equall power to both the front and rear diffs, so when the front wheels are off the ground you will still have plenty of power to rear diff, Wheelies on demand!! I have had my center diff locked for about 1 1/2Yr now and yes the drive line will wear faster and you will break a few parts, but the performance gain is VERY well worth it. Over the past year I have broke 1 rear outdrive cup on the right side(when looking forward from the rear), 1 ring gear on the front diff(I think that was from practicing stoppies), and have replaced 2 sets of drive cups on all diffs. Not bad at all considering the fun I have had with the locked center diff.. Oh yeah I have broke acouple pins on the drive shafts but soon realized the slop of a worn cup kills the pins, quick.

Guess I should do a nem front drive shaft and cups then...i'm killing the plastic one. Wish I had someone with me to take pictures today, was getting some good air, nice drifts and killer dust cloud dounts (i'm hungry)

on a good side note....

I emptyed the hobby shop with the sound of my truck flat out in the parking lot. It's funny how I kind of sounds like a little 50cc dirtbike at some points, leaks now from the center part where the cone was though...

the little bar with the loop that the little stopper and spring hit fell out when I was having fun...It was getting dark when I started so even if I knew where to look I wasn't going to find it....I did try tho:eek: Got to much going on to buy some dumb $5 part...I'll find something that will work untill I got some green...I hope:D

LOL sounds like a good day!!! If your center diff is locked you can use just one set of brakes to stop the truck. The brakes are so well designed thats all you really need....you could also just bend some heavy landing gear wire to make that part too.

I was thinking of looking through my old rc junk box...old black foots and grass hopper parts to many other crappy old rc's to name...as a kid I traded all kinds of junk to keep my rc's going:D

still gota lock the center...keep putting it off for when I get the oil for the front and rear dif's...

I dont even have any of my old stuff, except my Slot cars but most of those aren't that old, maybe ten years is the oldest slotcar. Some very fast stuff too!! lots of first second a thrd place stuff. Anyway I digress

I think I'll be able to come up with something...thank you though. I'm still thinking of bringing my little rc10 back to life, onroad is kind of boring after a while if you ask me. to bad she's to heavy to make a drift car out of. I've seen some sweet vid's of little rc drift cars

Need advise on locking center diff for a new Neme running on pavement and truck sled pulling. What benefits would locking the diff for running on pavement? Also truck sled pulling would locking the diff be the best choice?

Wild doogie, no the lock blocks are very different. the Genesis is a 1 piece design and the nemesis is a 2 piece due to the e-clips that hold the drives into the spider gears.

The center diff of the Genesis is not really recommended, I know there will be few that has noticed my recommondations have changed abit. I have been keeping an eye on those that have used the kyosho 500,000wt diff fluid and I o see a benefit, so I have ordered some to test in my Genesis. The Genesis drivetrain just can't handle the lock block very well, I still have mine in but I too have had to replace more parts than in my Nemesis. Now my Nemesis is solid as a rock with the lock blocks in that. I have broke the right rear pins on the cvd but that was due to a worn drive cup, and I did break a ring gear in the front diff while doing some extreme stoppies while landing on concrete.

If you plan on doing monster truck pulling then you know how hard that can be on any drive train so you will be ok locking the drive train on your Genesis bu I strongly recommend upgrading your diffs to the Nemesis diffs. They are built beefier with the aluminum housing and cases, heavier outdrive cups and large outdrive bearings.

I would love to see how well you do pulling!!

Slot cars are fun[8D]I raced a couple of years ago, but all the tracks at the time shutdown. I sold all my stuff and now I regret it because a new track had opened[&o]

Yeah soilwork, thats why I kept all my stuff. The same thing happened here the 2 tracks here shut down within months of each other. But I am hoping another place opens here sometime in the near future. It was a blast especially my 27 turn stuff!!

I have a new Nemesis and so you feel locking the center diff is the way to go for pulling and side by side racing on pavement. The sled pulling is on carpet and about 30 foot long course. Do you have any photos and directions on how to lock the center diff? I thank you for your advise.

Wild doogie.. Abso-freakin-lutely!!!!! You have no Idea how bad I want to do something like that here in AZ!!!! I loaded a bucket up with rocks I had laying around an pulled it with my nemesis awhile back and it was no problem!!!! couldn't tell you how heavy it was for sure but damn it was fun!!!! So I went looking for other things to do and saw a few videos several months ago and realized I live in the desert nobody out here does this stuff!! I am so envious of you boys back east that have organized events of this nature. the whole purpose of these trucks is to beat on. And beat the snot out of my Nemi and she keeps coming back for more!!! I would love to see how yours does please keep me posted!! there are some other mod I would suggest you do to get the full power of the nx76 to the ground without breaking. I strongly believe you easily pull 200# with it setup right!! the first I suggest is to stablize the fuel pressure in the tank with my OFNA check valve mod.. PM me if you would like to know more about my mods!!!
