MORE POWER TO THE GROUND?!?!

New engine, fresh tune, all new aluminum clutch shoes and stiffer 1.1 mm clutch springs. 5k in the front and rear diffs. I am looking to rebuild my center diff and I would like to build it so that I can get more power to the ground. Any ideas what fluid or settup in the center diff will get more power output to the ground? Can my matrix buggy actually lift its front wheels off the line?!?!

RE: MORE POWER TO THE GROUND?!?!

Are you actually wanting your buggy to do wheelies??? Unless your center diff is slipping or has broke, all your power is going to the ground, if you want to eliminate (For Bashing purposes) the center diff you can lock it out with Kyosho diff putty, this way it is reversable. That will put power down and put diff grease in the front and rear instead of oils. This is how many of your RTR MT's are set up as most don't have center diffs, CEN as a Exception for one, but like the Savages don't use a center diff and only use grease in their diffs and many of those trucks will wheelie on demand stock. So if thats what you are looking to do with your buggy, well there is a baseline to shoot for. Grease in Front and Rear with Center Locked. If you are looking for a good race set up, then check out Cens website and look at what their drivers used for their specific tracks, that too will get you in a good direction for starters.

RE: MORE POWER TO THE GROUND?!?!

mattyb,
I assume you want to get power to the ground by not spinning the whells right. Keep in mind if you have the stock diffs in your matrix lighter oil is better. those diffs really like the light fluids. I am running 3k in front and rear and 5k in the center. I hook up on most surfaces except dry hardpacked clay, I think I would have to get new tires for those tracks. also what tires and compounds yuou running. prolines m2 compound really works well on tracks.
