Nemesis Problem

Well I have had this truck well over a year now, I don't bash much but in the last few weeks I have.

I can tell you. This is one tough truck. Over all that time I have only ever had to replace the stupid wheel axles that would break so easily and the engine still has mad pinch (my poor finger, blisters [&:]). Other then that. Nothing. But I think I have found a new problem, while running it a few days ago I noticed some weird noise like a cling, this was once the truck had been run for a bit, 5 or so mins. As it would idle it would be around 20 or so clings per second. I cant 100% judge that. Its just a guess. It still ran fine, no power loss or anything so I didn't think much of it. But after around 10mins of running the car it would bog. Revving still but not moving much then and would just cut out. I didn't try to start it again. Just let it cool.

So I decided to come home and take it apart, just the engine. I checked it over and found that one of the clutch shoes wasn't in place right and that it had popped out a bit. I've recently placed it back in correctly and started it up, accelerates a bit better but I haven't had the time to take it out for a full run but no noise was apparent. Engine seemed fine and inside. But I didn't disassemble it.

Does anyone know if this is my problem? I'm looking to take it out tomorrow and get it going to see if that was the problem. I do remember a piece of a tree branch getting stuck in between my central gear and spur gear, once removed it was fine again.

Thanks guys.

more than likely. The clinging noise is a telltale sign of clutch/ clutchbell problems. Check the clutch, check that the pinions are tight, check the the clutchbell is on good, and it should be A ok.

Yeah could be a bad clutchbell bearing? Also take a look at the center gears and make sure the screws are tight that hold the spur to the second speed shroud
