cen funfactor battery query
 

Decided to dig out my funfactor after a year or two under the bed lol!
My question is - what options are there for batterys with my funfactor / sanwa control unit? The radio has 8 batterys and the car receiver 4aa batterys.
Now im wondering do i just buy myself a charger with the amount of batterys needed or is there a better option?
Im new to all this so please bare with me!

I have the cen funfactor Rally (2sp) .

Any help much appreciated.

Well, you can just use alkaline batteries if you want, obviously this gets expensive after a while. For the reciever, your best bet is to get a "hump pack" like this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHUJ3

Remember that the reciever/servos normally use 4 alkalines at 1.5v each, so that's 6v. rechargables are only 1.2v each so a 5 cell pack gives you full power, but if you were to use rechargables in the stock 4 cell pack, you would only have 4.8v which means reduced battery life and less power to the servos.

For the radio transmitter, you may be able to get a rechargable pack to fit that radio, or just use rechargable AAs.

When you buy these packs you also have to buy the chargers to make it worth. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJC10&P=7 That's a cheap one for your transmitter, these are only 9.6 volts, and here's a really cheap charger that would charge them both http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...7&I=LXL331&P=K (I just ordered this) There's also a plug on the side of your remote where you can charge your battery without taking out of the controller. The total cost for upgrading to rechargeable batteries is around 80 dollars, including a "cheap" charger; whereas 12 alkaline batteries cost you about 8 dollars and they last you for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Definatly looking at a hump pack . being cen i have what looks to be a jst connector and most the packs come with male futaba connectors. i presume i can get a converter lead for this so it fits my application. or is it a case of just cutting and swapping connectors over?

Other thing is my control seems a pack wont fit the rear of it. having cut outs only for AA batteries. i presume this means a rechargeable pack is out the question and will have to go with seperate cells ect !

Doesn't it have the box for the electronics like the new MT Spec 3.0?

has a box with receiver and a 4AA Battery pack in it. but definatly jst connector from the power switch to the battery pack!

the transmitter has space for 8aa batterys. But dosent appear its made for a pack. dohh!


just been to look at some other rc cars tbh at my local model shop and the gs racing storm evo rtr takes my fancy tbh. comes with a futaba control also.
Might just take the plunge for something newer and more of road . hmm!

Normally you have to solder the connections to make them match your terminals. If you have the 4AA pack the hump pach will fit in there, a little tight but it will.
