Default bearing cup does not have to be secured into the offset plate.

I got my new Falcon today! And I have been reading and looking at your post.. Thanks! Hey this is not an error BTW..

((bearing cup does not have to be secured into the offset plate.))

This means put a drop of CA on the bearing cups each side
before you add the offset plates to them.. just thought I
would let you know bud.. Don't think it really matters all that
much tho. but thats what I will do anyways! Agian thanks!
I am sure I will have more Q's for you! Hope you don't mind
me bugging ya! This will be my 9th heli now that I have built.
I am very impressed with the kit!

Default bell/hiller mixer blade bolts.

When I received my SE it had two small M3 x 5 x .05mm washers/spacers in a small plastic bag stapled to the instructions. When I asked my LHS what they were for, he did not know, but said he would call the local field rep. Well it turned out that they were to go between the bolt head and the inner race of the outside bearing. This keeps the end of the bolt from pertruding and no filing was necessary.

Default Bell/Hiller mixing arm bolts.

Syclic,
Thos .5 mm thick washers won't get the job done on our kits. I don't remember the bolt size but you actually have to taka ~1.5mm off the bolt. Not a big deal. I just used a flat file and in about 5 strokes it was over!

the Xcell's tho.. *LOL* so far so good. This kit is well
worth the money.. its almost like and eXcell ~S~

NO.

The slipper unit will slip just like it says. TIGHTEN the hex as much as possible but IF you cut a groover or flat spot with something it will weaken that main mask.

Default Tail Roter Grip

Ok Guys I am on page 20 now.. Almost done! This
heli is great , the instructions are the worst I have ever
seen before.. Anyways I need help on page 20. the
Intstructions say to put the ball link on the upper right
of the grip. the picture shows screwing it into the upper
left.. Why two hole's? for more pitch ? ect..
THANKS!

Jeff,

PUT it like you see I did in the picture. But be careful when you are setting up your heli and the tail throws. IT WILL touch on the inside and on some touches HARD. THIS will cause the thing to come apart in mid air.

So to see if you have the throws set properly, start the heli, run it up to about a 2 inch hover, then put it down then move the tail rotor to the full left then right directions. IF the tail rotor stops in either direction, you have put too much throws in. BACK OFF a little and do the test again.

This tail situation is the ONLY draw back to the Falcon that I have come across. IT is solved by having a Gyro like the 502 that you can set the length of throws on. IF you have something like the 401 gyro, you will be limiting maximum throw in one direction.

ANYWAY, the big point is to NOT LET IT TOUCH when moving in both directions. IF IT DOES fix it, or lose the entire tail in mid air.

Yours,

Kirk

Ok Will do! Thanks! Almost done , Gatta pull some servo's from my other heli and set up.. And add the New Tail control rod
ect.. Anyways I will post a pic soon.. Maybe with-out the servo's
so you can take a look to see if anything is wrong *L* But this kit is very well built! Soooo? Are you have a BALL with yours?
Oh and I am ordering the GY401 this week as well.. Heck I have
only flown with mechanical gyros the past 12 years.. Hehehe
all this new stuff is amazing! I will still fly my SR tho! I love it!

Kirk:

Nice review

Where do you guys fly in Houma? I spent a few weeks in Houma last year shooting a project in the Bayous. Not sure if we're going to do it again this year.

Scott:

HAMS RC Flying club. This is where we fly. IT's back in the sticks and hard to describe. IF YOU COME BACK, by all means come and visit, and we'll go flying!! I'm always looking for a reason to leave work.

LOOK me up Kirk Voclain Photography.
