Century Mechanics
These are the Hawk IV mechanics with the SE sideframes (The same as in the Long Ranger that I have.) Some of the best Mechanics in 30 size on the market.

Sounds like my Twinstar project will be a go. What motor are you running in your Long Ranger? I might opt for the .46 or .50 if I can shoehorn it in and not run too hot. Performance should be much better than with a .32 or .36. Any problems with this?

Jim,
you just need the 46/50 motor mount $12 and thats it, for 3d performance it is recomended to change the pinion to 14t but not needed for scale. check out www.runryder.com fopr more century info "YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED" I live in raptor country here and gust gout my hawk SE 3 weeks ago, I am totally blown away by this heli, needless to say several others will be ordering and making the change to century

I use an OS32SXH in my Long Ranger. Other scalers I know with the scale Hawk Mechanics in scale fuselages are equiped as follows:
1 Bell 222 with retracts (weigh in at 7 lbs. 15 oz.) - OS32SXH
1 Bell 222 with retracts (8lbs. 2oz.) - OS46FXH (he flies from a higher altitude of almost 4000 feet and a hot climate)
1 Huges 500 - OS32SXH
5 x S-300's - OS32SXH
They all fly very well - including power for loops and rolls. 3D would be more critical for power management on the 32 though.
The fellow with the 46 in his ARF Bell 222 is a very good 3D pilot and is now setting it up for 3D (he says just to shock the scale purists) because he finds at its weight with the fuse and retracts it is less lthen a 50 size pod and boom he has.
The only thing at that 8 pound weight that would be more critical would be the autorotation performance because of the high disc loading on the 550mm blades.
